Description
What is TagTamper?
There are two ICs from NXP with the name “TagTamper”, which are NTAG® 424 DNA TagTamper and NTAG® 213 TagTamper. Both ICs feature a novel tamper evidence function for identification of unauthorized access with its different design of IC structure. Such solutions based on TagTamper IC works without a dedicated App on the NFC mobile phone.
What is the difference between NTAG®424 DNA TagTamper and NTAG®213 TagTamper
Both ICs are fully compliant to ISO/IEC14443 Type A specifications. But on the NFC part, NTAG® 424 DNA TT is compliant with the NFC Forum Type 4 Tag specification, where the NTAG 213 TT is NFC Forum Type 2 Tag.
In addition, NTAG® 424 DNA TT offers tag authentication with AES-128 cryptography, to use SUN authentication mechanism to working on Android without a dedicated application or from iOS11 onwards sys via an application.
How NTAG®424 DNA TagTamper works
Typically, the tags are used to detect the opening of the packaging with AES-128 cryptography. The NFC tag generates a unique NFC authentication message (SUN) by each time it is being tapped with NFC mobile or reader . The unique URL with the SUN authentication message together sends to the host where the authentication take place, and return with the verification.
The antenna structure of NTAG® 424 DNA TT tag can be seen as two parts:
1 The main antenna loop to transmit radio waves between the RFID reader and NTAG® 424 DNA TT IC.
2 The detection loop or detection wire. In case of an open or break of detection wire, the NTAG® 424 DNA TT permanently stores this change. The information status of the Tag Tamper wire can be mirrored in ASCII code into the user memory and subsequently reported to the cloud.
